Imagine that you are on your death bed. We will all get there. Sorry for sharing this sad reality !!! But it is true.
Hopefully it is not today, but just imagine you are there. I am convinced that when our time will come, each of us will look back at our life and will reflect on what we have accomplished. What if I then realize that I am disappointed with what I have done in my life ? What if I then realize that I didn’t use my true potential. How horrible would that be ?
We obviously don’t know about it, as nobody has come back from their death beds and wrote a book about it. But I am afraid that many people have a lot of regrets on their death beds. To me that’s one of the worst things that can happen to you.
Imagine that on your way to Heaven, you meet Bob (for the men) or Jen (for the women). Bob or Jen is you but at your full potential. Imagine you sit down with Bob/Jen, and you discuss with Bob/Jen and the life he/she has had. Imagine that he/she has a healthy body, he/she has had a very close family, he/she has been very successful in his/her business adventures, he/she and his/her spouse were passionately in love. This is you at your full potential. And as Bob/Jen is speaking, you are thinking : “I could have been Bob/Jen…”
Well, I have a good news : right now, most likely, you are not your death bed. Thank God !!! So it is still time for you to become Bob/Jen
The exercise I would recommend for you to do today and in the following days is to imagine Bob/Jen. It is you, but at your full potential. Completely maxed out. How would you look like physically ? What would be your typical day ? Don’t think about what you think you can achieve today. Think about what ultimately you can achieve, you were born to achieve. What can of relationship would you have with your loved ones ? In what kind of business would you be engaged ? What kind of job would you have ? How much money would you have in your bank account ? Would you be engaged in philanthropic activity ? Would you be supporting your community, your church ? What kind of faith would you have ? How would you practice your faith ?
It is a fun exercise. Do it again and again and again. Until Bob/Jen becomes a very close friend. Until you know Bob/Jen intimately.
Once you have reach that level of proximity with Bob/Jen, then you can move to the next question, which is how can I become Bob/Jen. How can I start to change my habits so that they bring me closer and closer to Bob/Jen ?….
Guess what ! You have just right there, accomplished a huge milestone in your journey to work on your SUCCESSFUL HABITS !
